Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the best time of year to surf?Best most consistent large swells generally coincide with the heaviest winter storm activity in both hemispheres ie June - Sept for southern hemisphere south swell season and Dec - Feb for the northern hemisphere north swell season. The other months also recieve large swells periodically and have excellent surf. Each year is different. Sometimes the seasons start early and sometimes they finish late but mid season is usually best. Please check our "Surfing Info" link for more details. What boards should I bring?Suggest to bring the board you are the most comfortable surfing on at home. Most swells peak in the 6-10ft faces range (occasionally bigger) with smaller conditions prevailing between swells What surfing equipment should I bring?Wind-chill can be surprisingly cool at times so a short-john or short sleeved springsuit helps to both keep you warm as well as offering good reef protecion. Surf boots are also advisable (if you're comfortable wearing them) and perhaps a surf helmet for those who feel intimidated by coral reefs. Seasonal water and air temperatures?
